This Race 2 the Raven signature event made its debut on an absolutely picturesque day in San Diego, California. The racers arrived on the eve of the race, and immediately began their Top Gun adventure.
The pre race briefing was held at the iconic Kansas City BBQ, site of the infamous “Great Balls of Fire” piano scene in the Top Gun mo
vie. Racers enjoyed amazing local barbeque souveniers and keepsakes from the Top Gun 30 year anniversary celebration and mingled with various Top Gun VIP’s and celebrities. They were pumped and ready to begin their Top Gun adventure at 0700.

The Top Gun Race 2 the Raven event kicked off with a few “firsts” of epic proportions. Designed by the Raven and crafted by the amazing team at Bagels & Brew in Lake Forest, CA Racers, through exclusive access granted to Race 2 the Raven founder, “the Raven” by the United States Navy, and other senior members of the De
partment of Defense and the real Naval Weapons Fighter School, Top Gun, our group was given exclusive access to begin their adventure, on the sacred grounds of Top Gun. They were given a private pre race briefing by a Top Gun commander and Top Gun graduate Astronaut Christopher Ferguson. Racers and were able to welcome home the incoming sailors arriving from deployment on tbe US Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt. The salute from the deck of the USS Roosevelt was the official signal for the start of the race, and in a flash, the racers were off.
Astronaut Ferguson then joined the Team Mach Daddy, headed by Race 2 the Raven veteran, “Maverick” to complete the Top Gun adventure.
